    Registered Nurse Qualifications

    \n

    \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Jersey or compact state)\n
  • BLS Certification (required before first shift)\n
  • ACLS Certification (required before first shift)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience as a Med / Surg RN\n
  • At least 1 year of ICU or acute care experience preferred\n
  • Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills\n

    Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all medical-surgical patients within 8 hours of admission\n
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team\n
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record\n
  • Provide direct patient care and participate in patient rehabilitation programs using the nursing process\n
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from day of admission\n
  • Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team to ensure continuity and patient safety\n
  • Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees\n
  • Promote a safe environment by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures\n
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities\n
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation\n
