The 4100 Telemetry Unit at Bethesda North Hospital is a 38-bed stroke-certified unit specializing in complex cardiovascular and neurovascular care. As part of the TriHealth system, the unit offers comprehensive care for arrhythmias, heart failure (upcoming LVAD program), and procedures such as cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology interventions, and structural heart procedures (WATCHMAN, MitraClip). The unit focuses on chronic heart conditions.
Our highly trained nurses and clinicians provide continuous monitoring and specialized care for NSTEMI patients, heart failure management, and post-procedural recovery, with a focus on advanced electrophysiology, pacemakers, ablations, and defibrillators. We deliver evidence-based, compassionate care, ensuring the best outcomes through patient-centered treatment and the latest medical technologies. The Tele Unit works closely with our ICUs and offers a great pathway to grow in Critical Care.
Job Overview
Provides assistance and / or performs basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the direct supervision of a nurse. May perform non-direct patient care activities as assigned, requested, or directed including but not limited to stocking and clerical activities.
Job Requirements
- 2 years High School Education
- Age 17 with work permit
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Reading and math ability appropriate to the position
Job Responsibilities
Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks in which the PCA has been trained. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe. Seeks clarification from the nurse when in doubt.Maintains a safe environment; reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel and completes safety event report as necessary. Complies with Infection Control policies.Communicates effectively, shows respect to patients, families and co-workers, reports patient-related information timely, and documents observations and tasks performed.Works in collaboration with all members of the health care team and utilizes chain of command appropriately.Performs supply, equipment, and environmental-related activities; reports and follows-through on issues with supply / equipment availability.Supports organizational and unit changes; identifies areas for self-improvement and demonstrates knowledge of changes.Other Job-Related Information
