Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth aged 10-17? LSF is seeking a dedicated Youth Services Specialist to join our team! Flexible schedule options are available.

Available shifts : 12pm to 10pm (3 days per week) OR 2pm to 10pm (4 days per week).

Purpose & Impact :

As a Youth Services Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct support to our residents. This position involves supervising youth, ensuring their safety and well-being, and facilitating enriching activities. You will serve as a positive role model, guiding residents towards educational growth and essential life skills.

Essential Functions :

  • Create a supportive and nurturing environment for youth.
  • Ensure daily security and maintenance of the facility.
  • Collaborate in implementing and monitoring client case plans.
  • Engage in various training sessions to enhance your skills.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas.
  • Supervise residents during various activities.
  • Effectively manage behaviors of residents during activities.
  • Assign and oversee daily chores for residents.
  • Prepare nutritious meals as needed.
  • Conduct client screenings and initial intakes.
  • Complete essential paperwork for clients efficiently.
  • Monitor clients in self-administering medication.
  • Assist with other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Physical Requirements :

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid state driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Education :

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience :

    Prior experience working with youth, particularly those facing challenges, is preferred.

    Skills / Abilities :

  • Dependability and sound judgment are essential traits.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and understanding of socioeconomic characteristics of service populations.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively with staff and leadership.
  • Must obtain CPR / First Aid and crisis intervention certification within the first 90 days of employment.
