JOB SUMMARY :
- The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for business development in the assigned territory of brokers agents and other distribution partners focused primarily on Chubbs products and services associated with Small Commercial Middle Market and Financial Lines business.
- The BDM acts as ambassador for all that Chubb has to offer for a select group of Agents.
- The BDM is responsible for overall agency relationship management including new client acquisition and client management.
- Manages and maintains focus on achieving metrics across KPIs including Gross Written Premium growth New Business profit new agency appointments and visibility.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Successful and documented track record of calling on insurance brokers and agents within a predetermined territory / geographyDevelops tactical sales plan designed to achieve annual objectives. These objectives to include the capture of market share new agency appointments & revenue growthGenerates opportunities to acquire new business through business development activities initiated with assigned brokers & agentsBuilds relationships with key partnerships locally and regionally to assist in business development opportunitiesDemonstrated ability to achieve monthly quarterly and annual production goalsWorks closely with commercial underwriting staff and local field operations leadershipEnsures that products / services are competitively positioned in the marketManages pipeline of key customers to meet and exceed growth goals and objectivesServes as point of contact and relationship manager for assigned producersEffectively manages daily weekly and monthly goals and tracking responsibilitiesWorks with underwriting to evaluate price and propose rate and strategy on small to large commercial accountsManages assigned workload to meet internal productivity and timely service standardsQualifications
Minimum of 5 years underwriting and / or Broker / Agent sales experience; business development experience in commercial lines preferred.College degree or equivalent business experience.CPCU or CIC recommendedAbility to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sourcesExcellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skillsAuthoritative knowledge of all Chubb commercial coverages products services and liabilitiesAbility to be self-motivated and a self-starterAbility to make independent decisions using Chubb best practices for guidanceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapable of dealing with highly visibilityMust be able to effectively work in a team and matrix reporting environment.
