Job Summary : The Pavilion Nurse Manager (LPN) is responsible for assisting in the direct daily care of patients by assessing patient needs and playing a role in providing them with the appropriate treatment plan. The Pavilion Nurse Manager supervises the Nursing Staff in the department and facilitates the operations of the department to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

- Acts as a charge nurse to lead, guide, and direct nursing care of all nursing staff.
- Supervises Pavilion LPNs each shift and assigns duties.
- Completes daily schedules and ensures sufficient staff is available.
- Formulates and reviews care plans and assures that care plan, medication, treatment records, and nurses notes comply with physicians orders.
- Participates in all aspects of resident care to ensure safe, efficient and therapeutic nursing care.
- Assesses patients for injuries in the event of an accident and documents and reports the incident to the provider and management.
- Assists in the referral, admission, and discharge process.
- Assists nurses with new admissions and readmissions.
- Administers medication, including psychotropic medications.
- Gives medications, including IV piggyback-diluted medications and IV push medications.
- Works as a medication nurse.
- Collects lab specimens and records results. Notifies physician of lab results.
- Dresses and administers medications on all types of wound treatments.
- Assists with patient care including wound care, Activities of Daily Life care, meals, etc.
- Intervenes and de-escalates patient behaviors, utilizing CPI interventions.
- Ensures patients are placed on infection control precautions as needed. Communicates to other staff regarding the precautions the resident is on. Ensures PPE is readily available and set up on the patient's door.
- Ensures weekly and monthly weights are completed.
- Receives, monitors, and completes dietary recommendations made for the residents.
- Completes daily patient assessments and documentation.
- Accompanies providers with patient rounding, reviews diagnostics, and carries out physicians orders.
- Ensures precautions are followed during patient rounding and documents completed rounds on the patient observation record.
- Monitors patients for any changes in condition and intervenes early by notifying the appropriate provider.
- Communicates patient updates to families and nursing home staff.
- Enters patient charges every shift.
- Charts medications and other pertinent resident information.
- Assists with 24-hour chart checks.
- Assesses the quality and effectiveness of patient care in the unit and makes adjustments when improvements are necessary.
- Participates in treatment team meetings and assists with treatment plan updates.
- Completes unit safety checks and identifies, eliminates, and reports any identified safety issues every shift.
- Ensures staff have supplies needed to perform job duties.
- Orders patient supplies and materials.
- Makes weekly rounds on residents and addresses any concerns and / or complaints.
- Participates in nurse rounding and reporting.
- Rounds with physicians monthly.
- Attends weekly Medicare A and care plan meetings.
- Assists with milieu management.
- Leads daily huddles with staff to maintain open communication.
- Collaborates with committees in writing and maintaining policy and procedure manuals and nursing service forms.
- Participates in monthly Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Control meetings.
- Ensures staff is maintaining compliance with CMS regulations and is survey ready at all times.
- Takes nursing administrative calls on a rotating basis, including weekday and weekend shifts.
- Acts as a preceptor for nursing students and orients new hires of the same discipline.
- Identifies and helps in resolving problems within nursing service.
- Keeps the work station clean and assists with housekeeping duties (employee fridge, putting away supplies, etc).
- Performs all other job-related duties as requested.
Education / Qualification Requirements :
Current LPN License in the State of Georgia.Current BLS certification. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire).Experience :
At least 5 years of previous clinical experience is preferred but not required.Previous management experience is preferred but not required.EOE STATEMENT
