Your role as a CNC Vertical Mill Machinist

As a CNC Vertical Mill Machinist at WALCO Tool & Engineering in Romeoville, IL, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include setting up and operating CNC machining centers, conducting intricate contour milling, drilling, boring, and tapping of products with precision, and inspecting work to ensure top-notch quality. Your keen eye for detail will be essential in detecting any malfunctions and efficiently loading parts for seamless production processes. Applicants for this second shift position will have the option to choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, depending on availability. Second shift employees receive a 10% shift differential on top of base pay.

Requirements for this CNC Vertical Mill Machinist job

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• 5 years set-up and operation of CNC vertical equipment
• Attention to detail
• Have the ability to follow written work instructions
• Must be capable / have experience working with various materials such as low carbon & alloy steels, cast iron castings, aluminum, etc.
• Capable of maintaining milling tolerances
• Must be fluent in G and M codes
• Blueprint reading skills
• Must be able to physically lift / push / pull objects up to 40 lbs.
