Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Monitor to ensure a safe and supportive environment for students throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively while fostering positive relationships with students. This role is crucial in maintaining order and supporting the educational process within the school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions between classes to ensure safety and adherence to school policies.
  • Assist in managing student behavior, promoting positive interactions, and addressing conflicts as they arise.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, utilizing behavior management techniques as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement first aid procedures when required, ensuring the health and safety of all students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student behavior and any incidents that occur during supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in common areas used by students.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and conflict management strategies is highly desirable.
  • Experience in classroom settings or teaching roles will be considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with students, staff, and parents.
