The Budget / Financial Analyst 2 will play a critical role in providing financial management information, including availability of funds, status of obligations, and expenditures. This position will be responsible for cyclical budget formulation, preparing detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding requirements for future budget years. The Budget / Financial Analyst 2 will develop recommended budgets in accordance with legislative and regulatory guidance, collaborating with program officials to monitor and control the use of funds. Additionally, this role will maintain integrated financial systems, apply financial administration practices and procedures, track invoices, research complex financial issues, and prepare monthly reports. The successful candidate will gain proficiency in the Department's financial systems, such as the Global Financial Management System (GFMS) and Data Warehouse (DW).

The Analyst 2 will also conduct independent reviews and analyses of budget-related programs and studies, providing detailed analysis to senior budget officials through written reports and oral presentations. This role will work as part of a senior budget analyst team, independently completing small to medium-sized complex analytic projects with minimal guidance.

Education and Experience Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in conducting studies involving multiple organizational levels and processes / functions
• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Department of State operations
