Assistant Geologist

Overview

Assistant Geologist at Terracon. This role focuses on evaluating and interpreting subsurface field and sampling data, generating subsurface maps and cross-sections, and collaborating with engineering and environmental staff on projects related to soil, groundwater, and environmental site assessments.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Understand and practice quality acumen.
• Support consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
• Gather data and information to be evaluated by other team members as an entry-level geological professional.
• Perform sampling and testing of water, soil, and other materials.
• Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
• Assist with report preparation by summarizing data and information within reports.
• Operate field monitoring equipment.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of remediation and instrumentation systems.
• Transport material, samples or documents to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate field monitoring equipment.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

$23.75 - $33.25 per hour
