Job Summary and Principle Duties
- Functions independently, once credentialed by the Medical Director, providing exceptional pre-hospital clinical medicine based on the Departments Scope of Care.
- Once cleared to independent duty, field paramedics are required to manage medical and trauma patients, direct co-workers, first responders and bystanders.
- Must be able to maintain and trouble shoot medical equipment as well as keep equipment and vehicle clean and response ready.
- Assesses patient and provides medical care on the scene and en route to the hospital
- Operate EMS vehicles under normal and emergency conditions
- Operate standard equipment; such as stretchers, cots, patient care monitors, and standard diagnostic equipment
- Work a 48 / 96 hour schedule.
- Serves as crew member on an EMS unit

Qualifications
High School graduation or equivalent.At least 5 years prior Emergency Medical Services response experience in a 911 system.Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency care and equipment; including diagnosis, proper treatment and transportation.Special Requirements
Maintains certificates, licenses, and continuing education as required by local, state, and federal government.Valid Texas Driver's License Required.Must be certified or licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Paramedic (must not have state sanctions or disciplinary restrictions).Ability to Obtain :
Appropriate NIMS certifications, including 100, 200, 300, 700, and 800; HazMat Awareness Level training. Any applicant conditionally selected for this position will be required to submit to a physical and drug testing, before commencing employment.Miscellaneous Information
