About The Position

Job Title : ICU Staff Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Intensive Care Unit

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day / Night Rotation

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 1 year in ICU required

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : BLS required, ACLS required

Must-Have : Knowledge of cardiac-related medications and rhythm analysis, previous care of BIPAP patients required

Description :

Full-time position working 72 hours per two-week pay period.

Days of work are Sunday to Saturday on a day / night rotation.

Hours and days of work are variable.

Coordinates total nursing care for patients of all ages utilizing the nursing process.

Directs patient and family teaching.

Provides leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and patient team personnel.

Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Required procedures include telemetry, dressing changes, ventilation / BIPAP, and IV starts.

Equipment utilized includes computerized charting, medication systems, Alaris IV pumps, and blood glucose monitoring systems.

Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 in ICU depending on census and patient needs.

Dress code is black scrubs.

A basic cardiology class for nurses is required along with ACLS certification.

Completion of a one-week hospital and department orientation is provided.
