The City of Eastvale in the Community Development Department's Building Safety Division is seeking a Senior Building Inspector. The salary range is $84,682.67 - $105,757.05 annually, $7,056.89 - $8,813.09 monthly, and $40.71 - $50.84 hourly.
The position offers benefits including a 4-day work week, 11 paid holidays plus a floating holiday, scheduled merit increases dependent on performance, a $2,721.01 monthly benefit allowance towards medical, dental, and vision starting in 2026, employer contribution to a health reimbursement account upon completion of the fifth year, pension through CalPERS, 457 Deferred Compensation Plan through Voya Financial, 200% employer contribution match to a 457 Plan up to $3,000 per year, professional development with Breaking the Chain Consulting, and $2,500 educational reimbursement per fiscal year.
Minimum qualifications include education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in building and construction, and three years of increasingly responsible experience in inspection of industrial, commercial, residential construction. Special requirements include possession of at least one Building Inspector Certificate and two other trade-related Inspector certifications from the International Code Council (ICC), or possession of an Inspector's Certificate as a Combination Inspector from the International Code Council (ICC).
The Senior Building Inspector will serve as a key member of the Building Safety Division to help ensure that all of Eastvale's residential, commercial, and industrial properties are in compliance with the most up-to-date building codes. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with the ability to perform highly detailed inspections to meet safety and building regulations, knowledgeable of building codes and construction methods, a collaborative individual who can work in partnership with the residents and developers within Eastvale to enhance safety within buildings and construction sites, a champion of the Building Safety team that is dedicated to safety, education, and making certain that all parties involved understand the importance of building code compliance, and a leader with a strong sense of character with uncompromising ethics and values, including honesty, integrity, and courageous decision making.
