Tax Preparer Position

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team in Warwick, Rhode Island, on a long-term contract basis. This role requires someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of client interactions during tax season. You will play an essential role in providing exceptional service to clients while managing administrative and bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

Handle client inquiries and schedule appointments through phone calls and face-to-face interactions.

Assist clients with tax preparation by reviewing and entering information into tax software.

Perform bookkeeping tasks, including reconciling accounts, categorizing transactions, and updating financial data.

Utilize software tools such as ProSeries, QuickBooks Online, and Excel to manage client information and records.

Scan and organize client documents to ensure accurate and timely processing.

Provide excellent customer service to clients during in-office meetings and drop-off appointments.

Manage a high volume of tasks and interactions while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and adherence to deadlines.

Stay updated on tax policies and software changes to enhance service quality.

Adapt to new systems and tools implemented in the office as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience in tax preparation, particularly individual tax returns.

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm and approachable demeanor.

Ability to handle high-volume client interactions professionally.

Familiarity with tax software such as ProSeries or similar tools.

Experience managing appointments and schedules efficiently.

Competence in using multi-line phone systems for client communication.
