About The Position

Job Title : Technologist or Technician

Hours per Shift : 7.5 hours (15 : 00 - 23 : 00)

Experience : 1.5+ years of experience accepted; 2+ years if not tertiary experience

License : High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certifications : Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD must not expire during the term of assignment)

Must-Have :

• Ability to lift / carry 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and / or reach for extended periods
• Effective communication skills in English (verbally and in writing)

Description :

Large, busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services.

The facility provides emergency services for the area.

The role requires rotating through all areas including decontamination.

Standing for long periods is necessary.

Disassemble, clean, sterilize, reassemble, and package sterile supplies according to specifications and / or manufacturer instructions.

Follow department protocols during sterilization procedures.

Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment.

Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.

Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment for decontamination.

Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.

Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and notify the supervisor or biomedical engineer.

Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.

Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
