Vehicle Operability Project Chief - Now Hiring!

The Vehicle Operability Project Chief is primarily responsible for the QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery Performance) results for a vehicle Top Hat project of an integration, validation or industrialization activity in Electrical Electronics at the system level. They will facilitate commissioning of product development, high milage testing and Fast Feedback Vehicles. They lead the definition of software packages and work with the Modernization Manager and Coordinators to execute vehicle updates for custodians. Their responsibility covers a project with a new EE architecture or powertrain and will be the single-point contact on the Operability & Commissioning Team for the program. Along with the entire Operability and Commissioning Team, they will strive to improve vehicle-level operability by promptly identifying and resolving issues and updating vehicles with the latest compatible software configurations.

Responsibilities Include :

• Responsible for Project budget : timing, FTE, tools, etc.
• Track and manage project issues, root cause, resolution and implementation
• Lead and update the resolution of technical issues
• Identify issues and propose alternative solutions
• Report project status at Program Reviews, Program Health Reports, Readiness Reviews :
• Maturity, Issues, Compatibility, Workarounds, etc.
• Ensure coordination between stakeholders
• Ensure targets are met
• Escalate risks or deviations regarding costs / deadlines / performance levels to stakeholders as needed
• Develop recovery plans as needed
• Participate in defining technical solutions for development vehicles or industrialization
• Collect part update information, software files and instructions for part updates
• Support part facilitation when hardware updates are required
• Software and Vehicle Updates : Ensure proper software configuration, execute updates, diagnostics, validation, and testing on new vehicles.
• Write issue and synthesis reports
• Support vehicle update / triage priority lists
• Prepare workflow (upcoming projects)
• Define the exception list
• Support build of EE Plywood Buck
• Support triage activities
• Report on department pillar status
• Define tool needs and submit requests to Tools & Processes Manager
• Support archetype definition
• Support software update activities
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI)
• Propose Efficiencies
