Job description

Our client is at the forefront of the Automotive manufacturing sector and a leader in their filed is looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing team on a permanent, full time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
  • Works with the VP, Finance on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization
  • Reviews records of accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Develops systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies
  • Creates forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
  • Prepares the monthly and quarterly reporting and closing
  • Leads annual audits
  • Assist KPMG in preparation of tax returns and tax calculations. Files Tax documents.
  • Handles credit card reconciliation, loans and interest, petty cash, and all banking
  • Leads Cash forecasting meetings
  • Create, report and manage files related to budgeting
  • Coordinates performance to budget status review with operations
  • Continuous improvement of operational processes

Requirements

  • Five to eight years' experience in accounting and finance as a VP, Finance, Accounting Manager, or similar position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with accounting software, both financial and manufacturing modules.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of all accounting and tax related legislation, regulations and reporting procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of all accounting functions particularly related to manufacturing and inventory control.
  • Must be productive in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and Microsoft programs.
  • Working knowledge in Quickbooks, expert level preferred.
  • Available for occasional travel including International
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or a related field.
  • CPA / MBA desired but not mandatory.
