Foodservice Manager - Senior Living

Lead the dining operations that make our senior living community feel like home! As Foodservice Manager, you'll ensure every meal is nutritious, delicious, and served with care. You'll oversee daily production, staff leadership, and compliance while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. You'll also partner with the Food Service Director to craft menus, engage residents, and continuously elevate the dining experience. What You'll Do
- Oversee meal production and service to ensure quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure dietary needs, preferences, and special diets are met and communicated to staff.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and resolve concerns.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Manage food storage, inventory, and ordering within budget guidelines.
- Monitor food costs, waste, and portion control for efficiency.
- Hire, train, schedule, and lead food service staff.
- Conduct inspections and maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Collaborate with other departments to support care plans and events.
- Drive continuous improvement and participate in meetings and initiatives.
- Other duties as directed.
What You Will Bring
High School Diploma / GEDKnowledge of dietary standards, special diets, and food safety principles.Familiarity with budgeting, cost control, and kitchen operations.Ability to lead, train, and motivate food service staff.Strong communication and customer service skills.Skill in managing multiple priorities and maintaining a safe, organized environment.Ability to frequently stand and walk; ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).State / County Food Handler Certification - if required.Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check (State and Federal) and a drug screen.Physical and Sensory Requirements
This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.
