Join Our Team as a Medical Technologist!

Department : Laboratory Services

Location : Massena Hospital

Hours Per Week : 40 scheduled weekly hours

Schedule : 8-hour shifts

About the Role

Are you ready to make a difference in patient care? As a Medical Technologist , you will be an integral part of our professional medical team. Your expertise will help us perform clinical laboratory analyses and examinations on blood, urine, body fluids, and tissues, all while adhering to our published turnaround times.

In this role, you will utilize your complex problem-solving skills to tackle clinical and instrument challenges, exercising independent judgment and theoretical knowledge. You will also ensure compliance with all regulatory lab requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform testing accurately and in a timely manner.
• Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history and conditions.
• Communicate critical lab results and any instrument malfunctions to medical personnel.
• Conduct quality control, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Prepare reagents and manage laboratory supplies efficiently.
• Utilize computer functions for ordering, performing, and reporting tests.
• Teach in the School of Medical Technology as needed.
• Consistently meet all regulatory lab requirements.
• Take on additional duties as requested by management.

Physical Requirements

This role involves medium work, requiring the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. You will need to be comfortable with frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
