\n\nKey Job Details – Oncology RN\n \n

  • Location : Albany, GA 31701 – Southwest Georgia nursing jobs in a friendly community with beautiful parks and vibrant local culture.\n
  • Healthcare Setting : 29-bed Oncology Unit (7th floor, inpatient only)\n
  • Contract Length : 17 weeks (12 / 8 / 2025 – 4 / 6 / 2026)\n
  • Nursing Shift : 12-hour days (6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM)\n
  • Hours : 36 hours per week, every other weekend required\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800\n
  • Orientation : 3 days floor-specific orientation\n
  • Scrub Color : Caribbean Blue\n
  • Charting System : MEDITECH 6.1\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license\n
  • BLS (AHA) certification required\n
  • NIHSS certification preferred\n
  • ONS certification preferred for chemotherapy administration\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing experience required\n
  • Experience with Meditech EMR preferred\n
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility (per driver's license)\n
  • No first-time travelers\n

    • \n\nOncology Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients, including those with acute symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, and end-of-life needs\n
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as ordered\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses and nurse aides\n
  • Accurately document care and patient responses in MEDITECH EMR\n
  • Participate in rotating holiday and weekend schedules\n
  • Float to medical acute unit as needed (rarely)\n
  • Support patients transitioning from outpatient to inpatient oncology care\n
