This is a career service exempt job. Incumbents placed in this title are appointed, non-classified, exempt from 67-19-12, and are required to be placed in a position schedule of AC (Employees in Offices of Elected Officials). Employees in this job provide assistance and advanced knowledge in a variety of research projects, studies, evaluations, audits, and investigations. They provide findings to the State Auditor and / or senior management, analyze significant and critical issues affecting the office or public policy. Employees develop these recommendations in both written and verbal forms, which may impact governmental decisions, programs, regulations, etc. Employees may be required to acquire and utilize a wide range of research, analysis, and data science skill sets within small teams. This position will provide assistance and advanced knowledge in both maintaining and building web applications. You will collaborate closely with our team of developers and engineers to enhance and maintain our existing projects while also contributing to the development of new initiatives.
- Manages and develops modern web applications using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Create visualizations using the D3 JavaScript framework.
- Manages and queries data in databases using programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Postgres SQL, Google Big Query, Google Firestore).
- Utilizes Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Creates online interactive dashboards that integrate data for relevant stakeholders.
- Writes and / or uses computer programs to generate and analyze data.
- Maintains detailed investigative and / or research records, including documentation of work performed.
- Communicates complex, technical information and ideas in non-technical terms both in writing and verbally.
- Makes recommendations and presents findings to State Auditor and / or senior management / professionals.
- Ensures code reflects Web Security best practices such as prevention of SQL injection, Cross-Site scripting, etc.
