Senior Software Engineer, Database Infrastructure

About the Role

Join Salesforce as a Senior Software Engineer focused on Database Infrastructure. In this position, you will operate and enhance a large, highly?available database stack, develop self?service tooling for cross?team use, and collaborate with engineering groups on their storage needs. You will also participate in on?call rotations, contribute to incident triage, and support FedRAMP and DoD SRG activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and enhance our large, highly?available database infrastructure, utilizing technologies such as MySQL and Vitess.
• Develop self?service tools that enable other teams to manage databases, accelerating feature delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on their database storage needs and advise through the development lifecycle.
• Write code to capture database performance and create tools and dashboards that provide actionable insights.
• Participate in the on?call rotation and work with operations to triage and resolve production issues.
• Support FedRAMP and DoD SRG activities.

In the United States, compensation for this position ranges from $167,300 to $253,000 annually (base only). Certain cities may offer a higher range. Salary is determined by experience, skills, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, mental health support, paid parental leave, life insurance, 401(k), equity, and more.
