Job descriptionGeneral job duties : Administer chemotherapy, biotherapies, IV infusions, blood transfusions, and other medications. Obtain peripheral intravenous access, access implanted ports, maintain central lines. Perform phlebotomies. Provide patient education prior to infusions / chemotherapy and treatments. Assess patients prior to treatments. Review infusion / chemotherapy orders and verifies dosage calculations. Equipment utilized includes Computerized charting (Meditech), IV pumps, medication dispensing cabinet. RN with a minimum of 2 years experience in oncology. Minimum years of experience : 2 years in oncology. Schedule is Monday - Friday from 0700 - 1530, 40 hours per week. On call and weekends are not required. No floating required. Nurse to patient ratio averages 5 outpatient infusions per nurse per shift. Dress Code : Nursing Scrubs, any color. Candidate should have minimum of 2 years experience in oncology. ASN or BSN preferred. Meditech experience.
Certification Details
- Required certifications : BLS.
- ACLS and Oncology Nursing Certification are preferred.
- ONS Chemo Certification preferred.
- INS Infusion Certification preferred.
