About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Experience : Minimum 2 years in ICU

License : Valid Nursing License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (preferred)

Must-Have :

• Neuro and Trauma experience is essential.
• Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Proficient in handling critical care drips and drainage management.
• Strong assessment skills.
• Cardiac rhythm recognition skills.
• Experience with chest tubes and tracheostomy care.

Description :

Start date needed is November 12.

Interviews will be conducted.

Position entails providing care to medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients.

The unit consists of both negative pressure rooms and specialized ICU beds.

Patient ratios are generally 1 : 2 based on acuity, with potential for a third patient during patient transfers.

Travelers should be ready to float to other critical care areas as needed.

General hospital orientation is followed by unit-specific training.

Weekend rotations are required, occurring every other weekend.

Holiday requests will need manager approval.

All travelers should have experience working in a charge nurse capacity, which will be noted in the offer.

The unit will have 24 / 7 support from nursing staff and intensivists for consults.

Charting is typically done using electronic systems, with preference given to those familiar with specific platforms.

Travelers must communicate any pediatric experience for potential floating to different units.
