About the job :

Advantra is partnering with an early-stage defense technology startup in San Francisco to hire a Robotics Software Engineer to integrate and develop software for edge-deployed laser systems.

About the role :

You will integrate subsystems develop novel sensing and control functionality build testing pipelines and ensure all hardware and software work together reliably. You will collaborate with controls vision and hardware teams to deliver operational drone-mitigation systems.

Responsibilities :

• Integrate and orchestrate multiple subsystems across the full hardware and software stack.
• Develop new functionality with subject experts in sensing computer vision deep learning and hardware integration.
• Build CI / CD pipelines and automated testing for software validation and safe system acceleration.
• Develop dashboards and telemetry for drift analysis hardware health and performance metrics.
• Implement automated retraining triggers for machine learning models.
• Author clear technical documentation for software and system integration.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in robotics sensor fusion and embedded firmware.
• Analyze technical and physical limitations to determine development priorities and goals.
