As a key player in the US energy market, we are expanding our team and looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to support our financial operations.

The Role :

They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join the finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial records. You'll be involved in the day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with month-end close, and supporting various financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong grasp of accounting principles and an eagerness to contribute to a growing team.

Key Responsibilities :

General Ledger Management : Prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Month-End Close : Assist in the timely and accurate completion of the monthly close process, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing variances.

Accounts Payable / Receivable : Support the AP and AR cycles, including invoice processing, payment runs, and customer account maintenance.

Financial Reporting : Help prepare financial statements, management reports, and other internal financial analyses.

Compliance : Ensure all accounting procedures and controls are followed in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).

Collaboration : Work with other departments to gather information, resolve accounting discrepancies, and provide financial support as needed.

Ad-Hoc Projects : Take on special projects and other duties as assigned to support the finance department's goals.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience in an accounting role; experience in the energy or utilities industry.

Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.).

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
