Tax Manager - Strategic Leadership in Tax Compliance

Position Summary :

As a Tax Manager, you will play an essential leadership role within our firm, overseeing complex tax engagements for diverse clientele, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. This position offers the opportunity to excel in client relationship management, tax compliance and strategic planning, alongside supervising and developing junior staff. Your expertise will be critical in identifying tax-saving strategies and mitigating risks for our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities :

Supervise and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries.

Deliver strategic tax planning and consulting services tailored to clients across various industries.

Engage in comprehensive tax research and stay current with changing legislation to ensure compliance while maximizing client advantages.

Mentor and develop tax staff and senior associates, providing ongoing performance feedback and professional coaching.

Manage multiple engagements concurrently, ensuring adherence to client deadlines and budget constraints.

Communicate proactively with clients, partners, and team members regarding technical matters and project milestones.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in tax workflow and enhance overall client service delivery.

Support business development initiatives and partake in client proposal processes.

Qualifications :

Preferred CPA license.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; a Master's in Taxation is preferred.

5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Strong command of tax laws and regulations, with expertise in multi-state and federal taxation.

Proficient in tax preparation and research software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, BNA, or similar).

Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
