Senior / Principal Research Engineer

General Description

Porton USA is seeking an experienced and self-driven R&D engineer to join its Global Chemical Engineering and Technology (GCET) department. This job function involves wide-range problem solving, with effective applications of chemical engineering principles and state-of-the-art technologies. The position is ideal for an individual with strong interests in solving challenging real-world problems through hands-on R&D works, in a multidisciplinary and dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities (general, not limited to)

• Lead project execution including experimentation, data analysis, documentation, and reporting, in phase-appropriate process investigation and development for API synthesis, isolation, and formulation, to meet critical quality attributes of product as well as processing efficiency and robustness requirements.
• Integrate process data (off-line and in-situ, such as from process automation, PAT, solid state characterizations, HPLC, GC, NMR, etc. ) with equipment train design; apply process simulation tools and verify models using experimental design, data collection, and provide basis for process scale up; correlate fundamentals of material properties with process parameters and equipment-oriented operations.
• Understand requirements of pharmaceutical CMC development programs, elements of QbD, and EHS principles.
• Communicate proactively both internally with colleagues and externally with clients, to maximize efficiency and successful project execution.
• Take leadership in a teamwork environment, with technical and / or managerial capacity.
