RUSH University Medical Center (RUMC) is currently accepting candidates for a clinical faculty position as a Clinical / Pediatric Psychologist. This position is FTE : three days spent at the RUSH Day School (RDS) and one day spent in an outpatient assessment clinic through the Division of Pediatric Psychology . Opportunities to increase the position to FTE may be available contingent upon funding. Anticipated academic rank will be at the Assistant Professor level, or a higher rank commensurate with experience.
RUSH Day School (RDS) is a not-for-profit, therapeutic school that is part of RUMC. RDS utilizes a team approach to provide intensive psychotherapeutic services within an academic program. RDS students present with a complex array of mental health and academic challenges which may include trauma exposure, substance exposure, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder and psychosis in addition to anxiety, depression, ADHD and behavioral disorders. Many RDS students have multiple comorbidities and specific learning disorders as well as significant family and community stressors. The goal for each student is to return to a less restrictive school environment and most students return to a public or private school with accommodation and support. The school serves approximately 32 students in grades K-8 during the regular and extended school year. Staff at RDS are charged with providing a consistent, structured, and caring environment where some of the most vulnerable children can learn and receive treatment. The Division of Pediatric Psychology at RUMC provides a wide range of therapeutic, assessment, and consultation services across inpatient and outpatient settings. Our division also supports an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship program. Anticipated clinical responsibilities for this portion of the position will include :
Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD; PsyD) in clinical psychology with an APA-approved internship, completed a fellowship in clinical child psychology or pediatric psychology, and be licensed or license eligible in the state of Illinois.
