Strategic Analytics Lead, Corporate FP&A

We’re looking for an innovative individual with strong business acumen to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role isn’t your typical data science position. You will be a key partner to finance and business leaders, transforming complex, often ambiguous, business challenges into clear, data‑driven insights and actionable recommendations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy statistical and machine learning models for key financial forecasts and analysis, including revenue, annual contract value (ACV), customer retention, operating expenses, and cash flow, to improve accuracy and provide proactive insights.
- As a core member of the Corporate FP&A team, prepare, review, and enhance key financial forecasts as part of quarterly, annual, and long‑range planning.
- Conduct in‑depth analyses to uncover the underlying drivers of business performance, profitability, and variance against plans.
- Act as the team’s subject‑matter expert on generative AI and other emerging technologies. Research, prototype, and implement innovative solutions (e.g., using LLMs for variance commentary, creating AI‑powered analytical assistants) to enhance the efficiency and impact of the FP&A function.
- Partner directly with senior leaders to understand their strategic questions and take ambiguous problems, frame them into analytical projects, execute the analysis, and deliver clear, concise recommendations.
- Present complex analytical findings in a simple and compelling way to diverse audiences, from C‑suite executives to operational managers.
- Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to improve data accessibility and quality.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.6+ years of hands‑on experience in a data science or analytics role with a proven track record of delivering impactful business results.Fluency in SQL and one or more analytical tools / languages like Python or R.Experience with machine‑learning applications and enterprise data warehouses such as Databricks, Snowflake, etc.Exceptional business acumen and a natural ability to connect data insights to financial outcomes and strategic objectives.A high degree of comfort with ambiguity and creating structure and analytical frameworks for open‑ended problems.Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly within or closely partnering with an FP&A, corporate finance, or strategy team.Financial modeling and analysis skills.Demonstrated AI‑related work or project experience that illustrates both identifying a core problem to be solved and documenting how modern tools were applied to solve it.Experience answering business questions through both data engineering (e.g., Pandas, Python, SQL) and applying data analytic techniques (e.g., regression, clustering).Experience creating compelling data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with prior experience communicating and building relationships with stakeholders.MBA or CPA a plus.Salary and Benefits
Annual base salary range (San Francisco Bay Area) : $140,000—$210,000 USD. Base salary for other California locations (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington : $125,000—$187,000 USD.
