Description
The Food Bank Lead will assist in the operation of the food bank. These functions may include but are not limited to all facets of recruitment and retentions of volunteers, donors, and clients. The food bank lead will provide all aspects of client and customer service. This role also requires monthly reporting, time sheet entry and data entry knowledge.This is a part time position, scheduled for 24 hours each week, with specific hours to meet the needs of the food bank.
Schedule : Mon- 7am-12pm; Tue- 6am-12pm; Thur- 7am-3 : 30pm Fri- 6am-12pm
Responsibilities : Donations
- Daily pick up of donations from established donors
- Keep inventory of all food bank donations
- Assess donation needs of food bank and implement solutions that address those needs
- Develop community donation drives to increase inventory
- Submit monthly donation reports and paperwork
- Create and maintain community partnerships to support the growth of food and cash donations
Volunteers
Assess food bank needs for volunteers in regards to recruitment and retentionMaintain a weekly schedule of volunteers and assign tasks accordinglyMentor and train food bank volunteersCreate strategic community partnerships to increase volunteer opportunitiesEnsure all volunteers follow policies and procedures in the handling of food and safetyEnsure all volunteers follow client registration processesMaintain open communication and good relationship standing with food bank volunteerData Entry
Maintain organized data in regards to clients, donations, and volunteers accordinglySubmit in a timely manner monthly reports to supervisor and reporting grant agentsSubmit time sheet on time, every timeMaintain records of up to date policies and procedures for all aspects of the food bankCompiles with agency guidelines and relative to computer usageJanitorial
Performs janitorial duties according to established standards and as directedContributes to maintaining acceptable overall appearance of the food bank and the groundsPerform other duties as assigned
Attends trainings, workshops, and meetings to promote personal and professional development as assignedParticipates in an annual evaluation with St. Vincent Centers Manager of OperationsQualifications
