Stone Shop Manager

Location : Greensboro, NC

Compensation : $65,000 – $95,000 per year with the potential for more depending on experience + Annual Bonus Potential

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Stone Shop Manager to lead a high-performing stone fabrication shop. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge, strong organizational skills, and a proven ability to drive production, quality, and safety at scale. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, managing a 10+ person team and aligning daily execution with strategic company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee high-output fabrication schedules for granite, quartz, marble, porcelain, Dekton, and other materials.
  • Ensure optimal material flow, shop throughput, and yield efficiency.
  • Manage CNC operation, programming, and maintenance (preferably Park Industries equipment).
  • Lead a team of 10+ shop staff, fostering trust, accountability, and development.
  • Coordinate with project managers, sales, and installation teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Implement and enforce OSHA safety standards, including silica exposure protocols.
  • Establish and improve SOPs, track KPIs, and conduct workflow and quality analysis.
  • Take ownership of production schedules and overall shop performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Contribute to budgeting, job costing, and margin analysis.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in stone fabrication at high-volume production levels (>

    • $7.5M / year).

  • Hands-on CNC knowledge including PI, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Experienced in CAD / CAM, digital templating, and reading shop drawings / templates.
  • Proven track record managing production teams and resolving conflicts constructively.
  • Strong decision-making skills with focus on material yield, sequencing, and customer timelines.
  • Experienced with ERP systems such as StoneApp or similar.
  • Understanding of job costing, margin impact, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain production quality under pressure and scale operations.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance on tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
