Overview
Position Summary : Provides user support, technical assistance, and training to desktop computer users, perform routine maintenance to computer systems. Installs hardware and software, diagnose problems, and determine corrective action on workstations and on bus systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer users computing systems (workstations, printers, scanners, fax, copiers, and user productivity software) including installation, repair, security protocols, user questions, and training at all Agency facilities
- Implement and support hardware-centric systems such as video surveillance, fleet technology, and system components of Intelligent Transit Systems (ITS)
- Administer various databases and maintain SQL, MS Access and other types of databases as needed
- Use programs to write queries to extract data from current and future databases and create customized reports from them
- Respond to user requests, questions, complaints and operational problems related to desktop hardware, software applications, and network connectivity
- Support enterprise computing systems (cable plant, networks, servers, telecommunications, and related sub-systems) including design, maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, security and optimization
- Perform routine diagnostic work, and minor repairs pertaining to problems with VOIP phone system
- Perform routine diagnostic work, and repairs on security camera systems and provides security badges to staff
- Assure completion and maintenance of system-wide hardware and software documentation, including written procedures for critical operations, data back-up and restoration, back-up logs etc.
- Assist with backups and recovery testing
- Administer user accounts, and security levels. Set up and maintain e-mail users and groups, administer and maintain e-mail security
- Assist in maintaining, updates, or creating web pages, social media accounts, and other technology-driven communications media as required
- Research, investigate, and make recommendations to the Manager of Information Technology regarding the purchase, upgrade, or replacement of computer equipment and software; review and evaluate equipment specifications and obtain price quotes
- Maintain current knowledge of advancements in computer technology by reading technical reports, periodicals and manuals, interviewing vendors and attending trade fairs
- Operate office equipment including personal computer and printer, copier, facsimile machine, calculator and other office machines; utilize training equipment including multimedia equipment and overhead projectors
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Working Environment
Duties performed while sitting at a desk or computer terminal, with some standing and walking within the office area. Subject to noise from office machines. Duties may involve some travel to other locations to conduct work. May be required to work outside normal schedule on occasion.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Essential functions require sitting approximately 70 percent of the time, with balance of time spent traveling to various locations within Link Transit office buildings, climbing stairs, stooping, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions and carrying up to 50 pounds. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and moving up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
