Salary : Job Summary :

The Structural Engineer will perform independent structural design and work interdependently within a multi-disciplinary design team.

JOB DUTIES :

• Design structures ground-up, industrial buildings / facilities, commercial buildings, and healthcare facilities.
• Develop strong knowledge and utilize the engineering software used by Vestal (see list below) for the development of design packages.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the latest codes and standards.
• Assign / determine all appropriate loads to structures based on project and code requirements.
• Drive projects toward efficient and cost-effective designs.
• Perform structural analysis on steel and concrete structural systems.
• Design and / or analyze structural systems for local seismic requirements where applicable. Research seismic requirements for specific locations.
• Learn and implement Lean design principles.
• Maintain files of calculations and structural documentation on projects where assigned as structural engineer.
• Interface directly with project Lead CAD / Designers, engineers, and Project Managers to develop and coordinate structural system general arrangements and system details.
• Lead in design and construction using all structural materials and systems.
• Review of contractors submittals and response to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction.
• Site visits for pre-design field investigations and / or construction observations as required.
• Develop probable construction cost.
• Follow construction safety guidelines.
• Comply with Companys Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organizations goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.
