About the Role
Practice Leader / Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer) for the Sustainability Engineering Group (SEG) to lead our growing Land Development practice. This role combines technical expertise, client management, and business leadership. You'll oversee complex land development projects, mentor engineering teams, and play a key role in business development and practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of land development projects including grading, drainage, roadway, and utility design.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing strategic guidance and building lasting relationships.
- Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Utilize Civil 3D, GIS, and related tools to oversee design and documentation.
- Contribute to SEG's business development efforts by preparing proposals, leading client presentations, and winning new projects.
- Drive practice growth through strategic planning, financial management, and integration of industry best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) is highly desirable.Professional Engineering (PE) license required.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development projects.Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams.Exceptional technical expertise in civil engineering principles, design practices, construction methods, and local regulations.Strong client relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and fulfill client needs.Experience in business development, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and successful project acquisition.Business Acumen : Strong understanding of business development, financial management, and strategic planning.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.Desired Skills
