Job description
A company is looking for a Coding Specialist (HCS-D Certification Required).
Key Responsibilities
Conducts thorough reviews of medical records to assign appropriate ICD codes
Adheres to coding guidelines and selects principal diagnoses according to CMS definitions
Maintains communication with clinicians for clarification on documentation and provides coding education
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
1 year of experience in a related field
Must be a Clinician or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or hold HCS-D certification
Must maintain HCS-D certification annually
One year of preferred experience in coding
