Project Manager II (Remote)

The Project Manager II will support the implementation of the Clean Energy Communities Program and other community-based clean energy initiatives. This individual will manage projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and help shape policies that advance energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption across New York communities.

Manage Clean Energy Communities (CEC) projects, reviewing deliverables and invoices

Support the development of new CEC 3.0 solicitations and documentation enhancements

Collaborate with staff, contractors, and community applicants

Assist in developing policies that promote community leadership in clean energy such as benchmarking, carbon reduction initiatives, and community campaigns

Perform other tasks to advance clean energy initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

7–10 years’ experience in project or program management

Strong understanding of technical principles in energy, environment, or related areas

Proven ability to develop, manage, and implement projects with minimal supervision

Strategic thinker with strong organizational and productivity skills

Demonstrated leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to negotiate with contractors and represent programs externally

Preferred Background

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, environmental policy, urban planning, or related field preferred but not required

Familiarity with state energy, environmental, and economic development issues

Passion for clean energy initiatives

Technical Systems

MS Office, O365, Salesforce, NEIS (PeopleSoft)
