Staff Accountant

Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with construction or project accounting experience to support our client's accounting department and project management team. This role plays a critical part in job cost tracking, financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll support, and compliance for active construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily accounts payable and receivable operations, ensuring accurate data entry, coding, approvals, and timely processing
• Create and manage customer billing, purchase documentation, and contract modifications
• Assist with weekly construction payroll, including time entry validation and labor tracking
• Support monthly close activities, financial statements, job cost reports, and work-in-progress schedules

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related discipline
• Strong working knowledge of job costing structures, progress billing, retention schedules, and change management
• Experience managing vendor and subcontractor invoicing and payments
• Experience with industry-specific accounting platforms
