seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of outstanding record of research productivity and interest in clinical research in the field of infectious diseases. Teaching responsibilities may include high quality teaching of CHOP fellows and residents, as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing coverage in one or more of three inpatient consultation services, one service focused on children with general infectious diseases, one dedicated to the care of immunocompromised hosts, one attending-NP service currently focused on NICU and Ortho patients. Additionally, seeing patients in the Division’s busy outpatient clinical practice. In addition to our General Infectious Diseases Clinic, we have dedicated “partner-clinics” to provide collaborative outpatient care to outpatients with other underlying conditions, including malignancies, bone marrow and organ transplantation and cystic fibrosis.

Additionally, as CHOP expands its footprint (i.e., King of Prussia Hospital, potential sites in NJ) and the Division of Infectious Diseases partners with outside organizations, some local travel may be required.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical or translational research in the field of infectious diseases, with a particular interest in antimicrobial resistance and / or optimizing use of antibiotics or infectious diseases diagnostics. The Division has a strong track record of basic and clinical research across the spectrum of pediatric infections and host-microbe interactions.
