Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Overview :

A Minnesota school district is seeking a qualified ASL Interpreter to provide one-on-one virtual support for a student who is deaf or hard of hearing. This is a fully remote role focused on ensuring full access to classroom communication, curriculum, and school activities. The ideal candidate is reliable, experienced in educational settings, and committed to supporting student engagement and independence.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide real-time interpretation of spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) during classes, small groups, and school activities.

Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers in both academic and social settings.

Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, school assemblies, and any other assigned events.

Support the students understanding of content while maintaining professional neutrality and accuracy.

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and service providers to promote full inclusion.

Qualifications :

Holds appropriate ASL / Educational Interpreter certification for the state of Minnesota .

Previous experience working in a K12 educational environment preferred.

Comfortable using virtual platforms and providing high-quality interpretation remotely.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with school teams.

Contract Details :

Full-time, approx. 37.5 hours per week

Immediate start through May 28, 2026

Stable assignment with consistent hours

1099 contract (weekly pay available)

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.50 to $45.00. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
