American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Emergency Department position at an off-campus ED, requiring strong ER skills and the ability to care for all patient populations.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an off-campus emergency department with 10 beds and up to 20 total treatment spacesPatient population includes neonates through geriatrics, with approximately 25% pediatric cases and frequent trauma patientsAverage patient census ranges from 60 to 110 per day depending on the siteTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4, with fast track assignment up to 1 : 6 as part of a teamAll shifts are 12 hours with night shift start times between 1500 and 1900Floating to other off-campus ED sites is required as needed, and primary site may change depending on organizational needsUnit utilizes Epic for charting, along with Alaris and Pyxis equipmentRN manages ventilators and BiPAP due to no respiratory therapist onsite, with training provided during onboarding6-week scheduling with weekend and holiday rotations, specific schedules negotiated as neededRNs are responsible for patient care across all acuity levels, including management of ventilated patients and medication mixing under pharmacy video supervisionSupport staff includes LPNs and charge nurses, with some phlebotomy responsibilities, but no dedicated respiratory therapy or pharmacy onsiteOrientation includes hospital orientation, full-day unit education, an 8-hour respiratory class, and hands-on shadowingFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyScrub color is flexible; any color is acceptableFree parking is provided at all sitesPPE including N95s, PAPRs, and goggles will be providedUp to 5 days of requested time off may be approved; additional requests will be reviewed by management\n \n Requirements\n
