This role is part of the New Shepard program. New Shepard is a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line - the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.

As part of the hardworking New Shepard Avionics team, you will craft, develop, and verify high-performance avionics' hardware for various flight vehicles. You will be integrated with our rocket program and technical leads to drive requirements definition, modeling, analysis, design, test and production release of on-vehicle launch, flight and power management components and sub-systems. Your responsibilities will encompass electronic requirements, architecture concepts, detailed design, development, and test. In addition, you will follow avionics designs through formal verification, environmental qualification, release, and participate in flight support activities.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field
• 7+ proven years experience in the design of complex hardware
• Desire to work hands-on, both independently and as part of a team, throughout the design, verification, qualification, and production phases of the electronic product lifecycle

Our New Shepard Avionics Control and Command team is responsible for vehicle electronic systems : flight computers, navigation, sensors, controls, mission support, and more. In addition to the general qualifications above, we are looking for dedicated individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas :

WA applicants is $126,898.00-$177,656.85

Required for Certain Job Profiles : Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and / or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including : Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation / shipping training.

Required for certain Job Profiles : Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
