Gas Turbine Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Gas Turbine Design Engineer will be responsible for developing complex engineering solutions for gas turbine turbomachinery components that meet aerospace functional and physical requirements. This role requires strong expertise in gas turbine systems and aerospace design, with an emphasis on robust manufacturing, verification, and validation processes. The engineer will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including supply chain, manufacturing, and program leadership, to ensure that all components meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop complex engineering solutions for gas turbine turbomachinery components.
• Create detailed component design definitions (drawings and / or model-based definitions) aligned with system and customer interfaces.
• Establish dimensional tolerance stacks and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
• Support manufacturing to ensure production of conforming hardware.
• Review supplier documentation and assess non-conforming hardware.
• Review and evaluate supplier change proposals.
• Develop, approve, and execute validation / verification plans to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Provide engineering support for manufacturing, assembly, service, and aftermarket issues.
• Conduct failure analysis, root cause, and corrective action (RCCA) processes.
• Consult on technical variances and process improvements.
• Present and defend design solutions and technical work to program leadership and stakeholders.
