John Deere Ag Technician Student – Virtual Program

Purpose

Hired at Gooseneck Implement with the intent to participate in the John Deere Ag Tech Virtual Program, hosted by Arkansas State University - Beebe. The program involves online classes one day a week and four days of hands-on work at the dealership, under guidance from the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians. Post-graduation, employees may be assigned to different locations outside their initial store.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in service-related project assignments at the dealership.
  • Work full-time at the dealer location while attending online classes.
  • Shadow and work with service department personnel to gain experience.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and AMS products.
  • Engage in Service EDUCATE Training programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of John Deere and competitor products.
  • Follow safety regulations and complete required reports and forms.
  • Accurately record work hours and materials used.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Meet Arkansas State University – Beebe admission requirements.
  • Pursuing AAS Degree in John Deere Tech program.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
  • Perform basic repairs using specialized tools and manuals.
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Valid driver's license required.
