Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with 3-4 years of recent mammography experience and ARRT certification for an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital within the Breastcare Services departmentDepartment includes both screening and diagnostic mammography units, utilizing Hologic equipment including a prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy deviceAverage caseload includes 14 diagnostic scans per day and 18-25 screening studies per shiftPatients include implant cases, special needs, and those requiring 4D mammogramsUses Epic EMR and Change PACS systemsDay shift, typically 8 hour shifts with varying start times between 7 : 30 AM and 8 : 30 AM, 5 shifts per weekNo weekend, holiday or on-call requirementsWill work in either screening or diagnostic, but will not float between both areasResponsibilities include performing both screening and diagnostic mammograms, including working with implants and special needs patientsProcedures may include prone biopsies using dedicated equipmentLead technologist support is available but may not be onsiteNo starting IVs are requiredScrubs of any color may be worn as long as they are clean and professional2-3 department-specific orientation shifts provided in addition to general orientation50-mile radius rule applies; no local candidates acceptedPermanent employees must be separated from the organization for at least one year before applying for a travel assignmentNo blocked scheduling or special requests for scheduling will be acceptedRequirements
ARRT and Mammography certifications requiredBLS certification required3-4 years of experience in mammography requiredCompletion of at least 1-2 previous contracts in this specialtyExperience using Hologic equipment and Epic EMR preferredTwo professional references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 yearsActive state license required at time of consideration; license required if applicableValid driver’s license requiredBenefits
