JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Surgical Technologist to perform a variety of specialized technical and supportive patient care activities to assist medical professional personnel in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine prepare and set up medical supplies and equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Explain procedures to patient allay their fear and elicit cooperation.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to include obtaining specimens attaching vital sign equipment and positioning the patient.
• Assist physician and nursing personnel during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to include handling instruments and equipment calling out equipment readings and handling specimens while maintaining infection control standards.
• Manually clean endoscopes and then perform the proper process to complete high level disinfection of these scopes.
• Distribute supplies as needed and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Assist nurse with transporting the patient into the procedure room and to recovery after the procedure.
• Obtain family members from the waiting room once patient is in recovery assist patients to restroom when needed and obtain refreshments for patients.
• Clean and dress stretchers in preparation for next patient.
• Clean procedure rooms including procedural tables countertops floor mats and wall suction systems.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Level I- Entry level position for new graduates of Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologists with 0 to 18 months experience.

Level II- Requires 6 to 12 months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology or relevant military experience.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts Monday-Friday with no weekends or holidays. Rotating late shift (5 : 30 / 6PM).
