About the Role :

The General Maintenance Worker at NOAA Pascagoula MS plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of NOAA facilities. This position involves performing a wide range of maintenance tasks including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying maintenance needs and addressing them promptly to minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to support NOAA’s mission by maintaining infrastructure that supports scientific research and administrative functions. Minimum Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
