Base pay range

$21.45 / hr - $32.20 / hr

Major Responsibilities

• Provide financial and insurance counseling services.
• Counsel members regarding all aspects of Medicare Part A and Part B and their supplemental insurance(s).
• Schedule appointments with members.
• Assist, organize and file insurance claims on behalf of clients.
• Follow-up with client and / or insurance payor to insure that all claims have been resolved.
• Inform client of any financial obligation in a timely manner.
• Maintain complete confidentiality of patient records.
• Advise customers on Advocate managed care programs.

Process enrollment applications

Visit Nursing Homes and Senior Centers

Support established and new relationships

Acquire and maintain knowledge of computer systems

Support hospital philosophy and departmental financial limits

Assumes Other Responsibilities

Education / Experience Required

High School graduate. 1 year experience in health care. Some background working with older adults.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Good communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Some computer knowledge. Some knowledge of insurances.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Excellent attendance and punctuality record. Able to make independent decisions. Capability of traveling to and performing services at other locations.

If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06 / 01 / 2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting / movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
