Library Associate 3 – Instruction and Technology Job at Lsslibraries in Duncanvi

JOB SUMMARY

Library Systems and Services is seeking friendly, enthusiastic, and service oriented Library Associate(s) for the Duncanville Public Library located in Duncanville, TX. This full time Library Associate plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Library. Under direction from management, the Library Associate performs a variety of moderately complex technical and paraprofessional duties in support of various sections / functions of the library; primarily staff and public support. Providing excellent customer service to library patrons.

Hours worked per week : 40

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

• Provides technology support including essential computer use assistance, such as hardware and digital device software to patrons
• Provides initial troubleshooting for library technology such as patron PCs and Jamexes
• Maintain library makerspace equipment, materials, and inventory
• Instructs and assists makerspace users with use of equipment and software
• Plans and submits for approval age-appropriate, educational and enrichment programming for technology and makerspace
• Provides program support for the library under direction from management
• May coordinate volunteers and assign duties, providing necessary training
• Addresses or escalates patron conduct or safety issues to appropriate management
• Follow all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records
• Know and understand the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library. In addition to these freedoms, support client discretion of materials available at your local library(ies)
• Other duties as assigned
