Job Description Overview
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Intern to join our engineering team at the Grand Prairie, TX plant. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting the design, testing, and maintenance of machinery used in heavy-duty automation solutions. The ideal candidate is eager to apply classroom knowledge and learn on the job to solve real world problems in a manufacturing and industrial environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist in the design and integration of electrical systems for industrial machinery, including motors, drives, sensors, and control panels
Support the development and review of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable routing plans
Participate in the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems on machinery
Help ensure compliance with relevant safety and electrical standards (NEC, UL, etc.)
Collaborate with software, mechanical, controls and manufacturing engineers to support system-level integration
Assist in updating and maintaining technical documentation and equipment records
Create and execute systematic test plans following the scientific method
Learn and apply ITW's Customer Back Innovation process

Problem Solving : Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues methodically and propose practical solutions
Attention to Detail : Careful and accurate work when dealing with wiring, diagrams, and safety-critical systems
Team Collaboration : Willingness to work closely with engineers, technicians, and production staff
Adaptability : Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on environment with evolving priorities
Job Requirements
Rising Senior pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, 3.0 GPA or higher preferred
Strong self-learning ability, with guidance, per project requirements
Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, Creo, etc.)
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
