This includes our most recent honor of being recognized as one of the semifinalists for the 2023 and 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) provides administrative direction and assists in the operations of the Department of Nursing.\n\nResponsibilities Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies\n\nADMINISTRATIVE\n\nCollaborates with Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee development, evaluation, and revision of curricula to ensure compliance with USG, SACSCOC, Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN), and Georgia Board of Nursing (GBON) guidelines\n\nCollaborates with Director on program accreditation and approval activities\n\nPlans and leads nursing department meetings\n\nRecruits, screens, hires, and evaluates full-time and part-time faculty and other staff\n\nOversees and delegates new faculty orientation and mentoring\n\nCoordinates classroom and clinical observations\n\nCalculates and verifies nursing workload for full-time and part-time faculty\n\nReviews and recommends full-time faculty for promotion, tenure, and pre / post tenure\n\nSupports the process toward resolution of complaints and grievances from students, parents, and other interested parties\n\nCollaborates closely with clinical partners to ensure objectives of the program are met\n\nApproves course and clinical schedules\n\nCoordinates selection of learning resources for nursing courses\n\nCollaborates with the Director of Nursing and Dean of Health Sciences to promote support for the nursing department\n\nServes on college committees as assigned\n\nTEACHING\n\nTeaches nine (9) credit hours for the academic year\n\nMeets the common expectations of teaching faculty\n\nPerforms other duties as assigned\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nGraduate degree in the field of nursing\n\nAdministrative experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and department, usually interpreted to require three (3) to five (5) years of related experience\n\nCurrent license as a Registered Nurse (RN) and eligible to practice in Georgia\n\nPossession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operatedProposed Salary\n\nCommensurate with experience and education\n\nRequired Documents to Attach\n
